ElderCare Dental Hygiene Services was established in 2000 by clinician and manager Anita Rodriguez, RDH, BSDH. In 2005, Anita established Kindred Associates, PLLC to diversify the services she makes available to the public and professionals alike. A 1969 graduate of Southern Illinois University, Anita practiced traditional dental hygiene in private practices for over 30 years. In 2000, she followed her passion and began providing preventive dental services to elders and adults with special needs with her mobile dental hygiene practice, ElderCare Dental Hygiene Services. Her mission is to make professional preventive dental care as convenient and affordable to her patients as possible.

In 2004, Anita completed her baccalaureate degree at the University of Washington, including two certificate programs in special needs and geriatric oral health care through the Dental Education in Care of the Disabled (DECOD) Program, and business administration through the University of Washington School of Business. She is recognized as a state and national leader in the advancement of her profession, and a champion for improved access to dental health care for underserved and forgotten populations.

Anita has held various offices in the Washington State Dental Hygienists' Association (WSDHA) at local and state levels since 1992, and qualified as the American Dental Hygienists' Association's (ADHA) first student intern in 2003. In 2007 she received top state professional honors with the WSDHA Martha Fales' Award.

Anita has presented at local, state and national levels on special needs dental care and options for community dental hygiene practice. In 2007, she established one of the first Senior Center Dental Access Programs in the nation. She is a consultant and trainer to hygienists in Washington and other states for developing their own innovative dental hygiene businesses.

ElderCare Dental Hygiene Services contracts with hygienists in Washington State who have the same high standards of education and training, compassion and gentle patient care.  In 2000, Anita co-founded the Alliance of Dental Hygiene Practitioners  (www.alliance-rdhpractitioners.org), an organization that supports and mentors community-practicing dental hygienists who are also committed to improving the oral and general health of our communities.
